25-OH Vitamin D2 / D3 in Plasma and Serum

The determination of 25-OH vitamin D (i.e. D2, D3) serves for the assessment of the vitamin D status. Vitamin D plays an important role for bone mineralisation, muscle contraction, nerve conduction, and general cellullar function. Vitamin D insufficiency therefore is associated with many chronic conditions and latency diseases, a severe deficiency leads to rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults.

The RECIPE HPLC complete kit enables a quick and reliable quantification of both analytes from plasma and serum. The sample preparation consists in a simple precipitation step, afterwards the samples can be injected into the HPLC system. For calibration and for internal quality control a ClinCal® serum calibrator and ClinChek® serum controls in different ranges of concentration are available.
