Catecholamines in Urine

With this HPLC application, the determination of the catecholamines is performed from urine. Whereas the determination from plasma is most useful for patients with persistent hypertension (order no. 1000), the determination from urine gives the amount that is excreted over a 24-hours period. Since the catecholamine levels may fluctuate significantly during this period, the determination from urine may detect excess production that is missed with the plasma testing.

The sample preparation of this kit features in a particular user friendlyness for laboratory routine. For a safe and convenient pH-value adjustment of the urine samples a special stabilizing reagent with colour indicator is available. The definite colouring of the indicator assures the setting of the optimal pH value range (pH 2 - 5, see colour chart, pdf-file, 85 kB).
